A ramp allows you to get off at Porte de la Mer. This dock overlooking the water was used as the getaway of the Portuguese in 1769 Going up the main street you will reach the Portuguese cistern. Forgotten, it was rediscovered by chance in 1916 A skylight illuminates the center of this underground chamber supported by five rows of columns. A beautiful setting where films like Orson Welles' Othello or Harem Arthur Joffé were shot. Continuing the walk you will come across the church of the Assumption facing a single mosque minaret. This is probably the only pentagonal world.
